Iris Breward is a UK-based director and writer who uses dark humour to explore power dynamics in relationships, both the intimate and the institutional, with a particular interest in masculinity and gender roles. Her exploration of these themes is partially informed by her work as a trade union organiser.
Her short film, Sidney, was selected for BAFTA-Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival and was nominated at the 2025 Director's Notes Awards. She was also a finalist for The Pitch Film Fund 2025 with Sauna. Iris' third narrative short, Afterplay is currently on the festival circuit.
