Iris Breward is a UK-based director and writer who uses dark humour to explore power dynamics in relationships, both the intimate and the institutional, with a particular interest in how masculinity and gender roles shape our behaviour. Her exploration of these themes is partially informed by her work as a trade union organiser.
Her BAFTA-qualifying short film, Sidney, was selected for Aesthetica Short Film Festival and Crystal Palace Film Festival and won her a Best Director award at Covent Garden Film Festival. Her third narrative short, Afterplay is currently in post-production.
